She had heard the noise
Down village street
News had come of Jesus
His assurances
Deeds of compassion.
Affirmation.
This was He.
She stood at roadside
Craning her neck
For hope.
hope  for her Gramma
Suffering a ferocious
Goitre. Debilitating almost.
Yes Jesus, now face to face.
What do you wish
For yourself, my Child?
Shaking her tiny head,
Grasping His hand and pulling.
As if there were hardly time.
Visit. Blessing. Blushing
Laying on of Hands.
Little one ecstatic.
A real missionary in miniature.
Now Daughter let’s see
About that crutch…
