To be venerable is the norm of life,
The beauty of our existence lies there,
Where time and age instill a sense of strife,
And yet the wrinkles on our face we wear.

For youth and vigor may attract the eye,
But it's the aged who bear the greatest grace,
Their wisdom garnered through life's highs and lows,
Bestowed upon the world with measured pace.

In cultures far and wide, the aged are revered,
Their words and deeds held up for all to see,
Their stories, myths, and legends to be shared,
A glimpse of what once was and what may be.

From the ancient Greeks to the Japanese,
The concept of venerability endures,
A testament to humanity's great feats,
And to the legacy each one ensures.

But in our modern world, we often forget,
The value of those whose years have been long,
We prioritize youth and strength instead,
And cast aside the old and their song.

We must remember that venerability,
Is not a sign of weakness or decline,
But a testament to our humanity,
And the beauty that comes with the passage of time.

So let us honor those who've come before,
And celebrate the wisdom that they bring,
For they have walked the path that we explore,
And have seen the wonders that life can bring.

Let us embrace our own venerability,
And wear our age with pride and dignity,
For it is the beauty of our humanity,
The mark of all we've done and yet to be.

For age is but a number, nothing more,
It is the mark of all that we have gained,
The knowledge and the lessons we've explored,
The sorrows and the joys that have remained.

And though our bodies may begin to fade,
Our spirits and our souls shall never die,
For we have left a legacy to be displayed,
A testament to all that we have tried.

So let us cherish every moment we possess,
And savor every second of this life,
For time is fleeting and we must confess,
That we are all but fleeting in its strife.

And all the love that we have given and received.
