Heaven for an Earthly Soul

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

Souly I call her
I saw her like a vision
She wants to go home
Leave her earthly mission
I don't know what to tell her
She's better off here?
How, even this didn't draw a tear.
She is loved
She is adored
But my thoughts can run wild
She's afraid I think
Of this earthly child
I think she's listening
Instead of flying
But I love her too much
To ask why I'm dying
God says we can live 200 years
But were poisoning ourselves on our own fat and fears
I'm sorry Souly
Please don't give up
But if you do
You'll still be my earthly soul
For a century or two
I wish I could make it
A heaven on earth
Others seem to feel that
Such a life has been birthed
Maybe I'll buy you
A nice new picture
To look at
When I'm gone
If you feel alone
Amongst the leaders of men?
Perhaps some fresh clothes
Or food fresh as a glen
If its not too late
Maybe we could try again.
