Pot the belly

Patsy pots the jackpot pot
Which was packed at the spotty park

Patsy plays poker, a master of cards he picks
With pocket change he leaves home every morning but returns with a packet
Counting his bounty as he nibbles on his pickles,
he leaves every day without a thing in his pocket

Returning every night filled like a bucket
Renown in his town for his sly slippery tricks and trinkets
Children know him well for his pot belly, they don’t know he is a leader of a racket

A seasoned hustler, he gambles just about anything
Always sharply dressed, shimmering with new sleek tunics
His other name is “Masape”
Whose pot is it that shakes like jelly? Children ask!
Patsy, they scream!

A shaky pot belly he has they laugh away,
He plays poker all day on the streets of downtown
Reading a folded newspaper all day, tucked into his arm pits
Clenching fists at those that attempt to cheat him

Patsy pots the jackpot pot
Which was packed at the spotty park
