Summer night

The first time I laid my eyes on you,

The fire in my soul began like there was no other. Though, you turned from me and smiled and said "I could run but we both know that there was no other".

Holding you tight is all I could see.

All this confusion, was this true is this what I need, to be held tight underneath this willow tree? You turned, grabbing My hand in yours. "Only time will tell what we were destined to be" as you said to me.

What if I lost you in this ray of confusion, would I find myself in a deep delusion? I pulled you close to reassure you that when the time came that this will no longer be a game but more of a conclusion.

Your mind raced stating "only if I could keep my heart at a normal pace, would I ever be able to tell if this was real, because then I could seal the deal".

As I turned to you to say "please don't go but stay", I began to touch your face with my warm embrace, your heart slowed down it was then, At that moment that nothing felt more right on that warm summer night.
