I dislike the blinkers and the way that you are

I dislike the blinkers and the way that you are

You don't see me
I fall into your blindspot
I'm drowning in the ocean
When you can't see past the sand.
Your hooves beat a staccato
They feel the coolness
Through your own handcrafted tunnel vision
I dislike the blinkers,
And the way that you are.

About this poem

This poem is about how my mother never really saw what it was that I needed throughout my childhood and this has caused a fractured adult relationship.
