“You mean you don’t recall,” with a smile
He asked her, “A distant night, years ago, when
The city was still filled with moonlight dreams?
Oh, I remember.  Those nights were narcotic.
When I would be swept under the carpets,
Drunken, in a bed of warm sheets and naked
Memories that I devised, learning
Nothing meant something, kissing
Murmured whispers from your lips,
As I sank into your smoldering gape.”
