Fire & Ice

The sky gapes open,
Its woeful tears cascading,
Exploding with anguish, that it too,
Sees her, devastatingly broken.

Each rainstorm visits her,
Vicious and seething,
It knows there are marks of the breathing,
Scents and shadows of unwelcome visitors.

Each icy raindrop caresses her,
Trying to soothe the skin,
That has become akin,
To the raging dance of flames,
That cease to blur.

The sky is filled with wrath,
And shuts its curtains around her,
Shielding away from unwanted eyes,
Her grief - the undying aftermath.

This is the dance,
Between fire and ice,
Between crippling touches,
And the caresses of paradise.

It would suffice,
If loss would err towards her vices,
For ice to receive power - a grant,
This is her, eternal, infinite chant.
