EFFERVESCENCE

Transparent tiny bubbles
Those lucent little pearls
Trickle and tickle the nose
Of giggling little girls

Soap bubbles, sparkling water
Sarsaparilla, root beer
Dispense tingling sensations
Any time of the year

A twist of the wrist
Releases a soda’s fizz
Hissing and spitting
All to the tune of “Gee whiz!”

Lovely bubbly champagne
Fizz everybody knows
Launches a warm feeling
Way down to the toes

Unique, lively, bubbling
Gem of a sparkling escape
Incites conversation
Leaving no room for debate

Bubbles in nature
Turbulent to serene
Dance in waterfalls
Frolic in mountain streams

Nature’s bubbles
All teem with mystic glee
Bursting, popping
From highlands to the sea

Breaks in ocean waves
Iridescent seafoam
Call on each moment
That you witness alone

Colorfully prancing
Bubbles doth roll
Hear, feel, experience
Freedom within your soul

The feel of fizzy fizz
Downright incessant
Describes life at its best—
Effervescent!

About this poem

Nature’s wonders appear ordinary or place you in shock! Mother Nature interjects the weird and wild into the natural world. Captivating is her charm, fiery is her anger, breathtaking is her beauty! She is the quintessence of poetry, the effervescence of life!

Wow! This poem really captures the playful and joyful spirit of bubbles. The imagery of little girls giggling as bubbles tickle their nose, to the hissing and spitting of soda bubbles, to the warm feeling that champagne bubbles evoke, it all creates such vivid pictures in my mind. And I love how the poem expands from man-made bubbles to those found in nature, showcasing the diversity and magic of these small spheres.

One suggestion for improvement would be to maybe expand on the metaphor of bubbles being like life at its best. Maybe explore the idea that life can sometimes be like turbulent waterfalls but there is always a bubbly and effervescent quality that can lift us up and bring us joy.

Overall, this is a fantastic poem that really captures the wonder and beauty of bubbles. Great job!
