Curses

They are coming for me
I feel them
I see them crawling under my skin
For so long, I’ve been running

Running

Trying to get so far away
But I can’t hide
From what’s inside me
Desperately wanting to be seen

My legs, they look just like my dads
The familiarity struck me
My father's dark cloud
I used to see in the shadows
Of my troubled childhood
Has made its way
Into the shadows of my house
Made a home in familiarity

My uncles sin
Someone needs to pay
Life wants me to take the fall
Poison flowing from rivers of the past
Running through my veins

Bubbling bubbling bubbling

The familiar burst
This story has been told
It involves sorrow and destruction
And the wounded carry on
Scars so deep but
Trauma too painful to ever fully heal

Not a word gets told
They came for them
And when they die
They come for me
Black roots rotting
A cycle that grows like weeds
