At Loggerheads
AT LOGGERHEADS
Log out or log in,
At loggerheads without or within
God’s own kids on a tree:
Pristine innocence must see.
LIFE seems so simple
When they rearrange the jumble
Means displaying the vanity
Playing hide and seek with reality.
Good morning nimbus hovering behind them
That evening raining to teach them.
Is it a tale told by an idiot?
Did the Bard speak to Eliot?
If April is the cruellest month
December certainly was the tenth.?
DEATH breathed many tearful goodbyes
Let more warm welcome BIRTH cries?
Beyond those sad knells and joy bells
History of philosophy and religion tells,
A lesson of LOVE to LEARN
Love thine enemies to discern
‘Child is father of man
Only a chicken-and -egg problem to scan
Lord Buddha , Lord Mahavira, Lord Jesus
Towering and empowering a progress of PEACE .
Martin Luther King, Mahatma and may be
Fabian passive round table key!
Son of MAN, son of GOD. In their LIFE span
If they can can a can , you can , I can everybody’s can
Mind or matter to stand –
Boggling or confusing to understand
GROWTH as the stealthy flow of CENTURIES.
And the slow healthy flowering of countries
With shiny eyes that see
And the briny drops that free
The smile , the glee, the glow or the woe
An embrace or a good show
Note the struggle and the comfort
Yet not to hold the fort
Notice a computer and a constructer
Is it a green garden vying with a grey concrete jungle
It all fits in that triangle
The earth- raker versus the peace –maker:
Absent- minded verses that simmer
A lesson of LOVE to learn,
Let everybody discern
And rediscover the LAND
Of LOVE.
About this poem
This attempt at writing English poetry was done in 2016 for a school Magazine where I was the Principal then ,but could not publish because the literary output of the children was so profuse that the editorial board including me decided to avoid staff writings altogether. This poem remained unpublished and was lying there waiting. I did occasionally try to ask some reliable sources about its validity getting no response whatsoever. I request the judges to see if it is worth and include it for the competition if it stands a chance. Many Thanks more »
