"The Desert Snake"
I felt tired after traveling through the hot sands
my lips are chapped and i have calluses on my hands
I walked for days and my feet started hurt
but i always knew I had to keep alert
Of things that might move at a glance
in the sand I can never take a chance
for my life here can end at anytime
I'm old and I'm not in my Prime
oh Lord here comes a sandstorm
I felt something that was out of the norm
as I fell into the sand it was scaley and cold
moving side by side this thing was so bold
I thought I knew what it was, so I didn't move
for my chance of living would improve
it was a desert snake I seen it's head
if it bites me I know I'll be dead
so I prayed for my life and hoped it would leave
but it stayed still and then it started to weave
so I held my breath and closed my eyes
and when they opened that was my demise
About this poem
it's about a man trapped in the desert sand with a snake.
