Beyond Logic Another Reality

The haunting howl emitted from a pack of wolves
penetrates the deafening silence of night
this soul grasping sound is carried
across the starry sky
over the treetops
to an unseen dimension

The full moon radiates an alluring aura
the hungry wolves wail to this celestial body
in honor of it
metaphorically they are attempting
to connect with ideas lying dormant
just beneath the surface

Like undisturbed stones
nestled upon the apex of a river bed
always present yet obstructed from view
there are secrets within
waiting to be realized

If one never crosses the bridge
one never knows what's on the opposing side

Just as we must sleep
the subconscious serves a valid function

For it is in sleep the unconscious whispers to us
shall we lie in silence and listen

What will I hear
Or see

Shall I awaken to gaze upon a giant sphinx
willing to reveal its many mysteries and wisdom
an obscure culture
a defunct language
perhaps a concealed piece of myself
yearning for recognition

I am ready to venture inward
a quest where logic may not be relevant
and imagination no limitations
as a pirate prepares to unearth
a buried treasure

Kill the lights
Good night
