Pain

The pain begins again, merciless burning pain,
almost as bad as when the torture first began,
pain flames around my feet ankles and lower legs

I do not know what chemical or chemicals were used,
but my anguish deep without relief is a clear result,
I think my nerves are damaged from the 1st insult.

With time it becomes a severe itch,
as I resist the urge to scratch it,
father time gives me my only relief.

It's easing a bit now but I know it will surely return
I believe the damage done by torture is permanent
why man to man is this evil done?
