Whispers in the Night
And in thy heart, a voice doth call,
A whisper soft, yet haunting all,
Guiding thee towards the truth untold,
Through paths of silence, dark and cold.
The secrets kept within thy soul,
Shall find their way to make thee whole,
For in the stillness of the night,
Thy soul shall reach its highest height.
The shadows shall no longer flee,
And darkness shall no longer be,
For in thy soul, a light shall burn,
With wisdom's fire, it shall return.
And thou, in thy solitude,
Shall find a strength that is not loneliness,
For in thy heart, the dead shall speak,
And their wisdom, thou shalt seek.
So be still, and let the night,
Embrace thee in its loving light,
For in its embrace, thou shalt find,
The truth that was always thine.
And as the night turns into day,
Its secrets shall not fade away,
But linger in thy heart and mind,
A treasure, forever to be thine.
For in that solitude, so pure,
Thou shalt find what thou didst endure,
A journey's end, a path so clear,
That shines with light, forever dear.
So let the stars look down on thee,
With love and grace, so bright and free,
For in their gaze, thou shalt behold,
The beauty of the truth untold.
And in that stillness, thou shalt see,
The mystery of life and eternity,
For the wind that blows, shall whisper low,
The secrets of the ages, to thee to know.
So be still, and listen close,
To the voice that echoes in thy soul,
For it shall guide thee to the truth,
That lies within, a treasure sooth.
About this poem
The poem presents a journey of introspection and discovery, as the speaker is guided by a voice within towards the truth. The use of archaic language, such as "doth call" and "thou shalt", contributes to the overall mystical and contemplative tone of the piece. The themes of solitude, secrets, and wisdom are intertwined, as the speaker finds strength and completion in the stillness of the night. The imagery of the stars and the wind, among others, serves to emphasize the idea of a larger, mystical force guiding the speaker towards understanding. The poem ultimately concludes with the assertion that truth can be found within, and that it is a treasure that endures beyond time. The use of poetic devices such as repetition and rhyme further enhance the coherence and impact of the piece. more »
