Heavy rotation

Saturn,
The sky’s mystery that cannot be touched
Grandiose but cold and lonely
My attraction to you blew me out
I became stardust
Since then neither one of us is free
I’m bound to gravitate around you forever
You’re trapped by my aura
If you’re made of gas, I’m your solid core

I’m your creation and together we’re stuck to learn each other’s lessons

The boundary that backfired
The compromise of sharing an existence together
The acceptance of our true nature
The consequences of our actions
The inevitable karma

We’re each other’s mirror
You can’t escape my energy
I can’t deny your power over me

It’s balance at its finest
I keep you grounded
You keep me alive
We’re each other’s kryptonite
Love at arms length

A world ripped apart by its proximity to a giant

About this poem

The poem is an illustration of unrequited love, two complementary forces that survive within their limitations - Saturn & its rings -and together succeed in creating a greater purpose, bigger than the egoistical need of owning each other.
