Better days

These days I smile in the mirror
Wishing to see myself clearer
Try my best to loose your shadow
Stepping back into my power

Nowadays I’m light and lighter
Nowadays I’m much more brighter
Today I walk down your street
Without feeling much defeat

Today I have found my strength
Took myself back off-the-self
There is softness to my movement
Nowadays I feel improvement

Maybe not all my wounds healed
I’m still on that battlefield
But these days I have let go
Of the demons that you know

About this poem
