Sketchy

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The words are sketchy? Oh yes, they are!
They paint us a picture that is really bizarre.
Everything we think false, but the impossible true,
If we want to know joy we must know the pain too!
Never really healed unless we’ve really suffered,
Never finding peace until our lives get tougher.
I ate the little scroll and it was sweet but hard to chew,
And after I had eaten, it turned my stomach sour too.
So why do I keep running, falling broken on the floor?
Because I looked and when I did I saw an open door.
You’re gazing into heaven now where He has gone before you.
The words are really sketchy? Yes, they drew this picture for you!
