Oh, how beautiful the world is.

Oh, how beautiful the world is.
How the tender limbs sway in the gentle breeze.
How the clouds hang on the dull sky.
How the building sit placidly on the horizon.

Calm.
The gentle rustle of leaves.
The deer grazing.
The cell tower blinking atop the mountain.

Their movements slow and predictable.
Upon clear paths and familiar roads.

Why must I be wrought from this world so beautiful?
I have found my fulfillment.
Why may I find no comfort in it?
I do not know.

About this poem

Beauty is found not merely in nature, but in all that is familiar. This poem describes the peacefulness of familiarity, and the stress of uncertainty.
