Battles

Susan Dickinson 1991 (Oswego)

I face my own battles
I put up walls I drowned people out
Some don’t even care
I’m invisible to many
But here I stand not because I want to be
It’s because I have to be
I have to be the one to pick myself up
To figure it out when I want to fall
To be the silent one when I have so much to say
To face it all on my own
Know one cares because it’s just me
Never less here I stand myself up not because I want to be
It’s because I have to be
