The New Life in Christ
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
So what should we ever say,
Should we continue to sin?
Grace comes when we disobey,
But still corrupted within.
By no means that God forbid,
To live in sin means we lied;
Thinking of the sin we hid,
Not exposed when we have died.
Do you not know when baptized,
Into Christ and in His death;
You are legitimatized,
Being given a new breath.
For we were buried with Him,
By baptism into death;
Letting the darkness grow dim,
Giving rebirth and new breath.
As Christ was raised from the dead,
The glory of the Father;
With newness in life is fed,
Making Christ our Brother.
