Upon thy entrance to the hall of youth,
I greeted thee with salutation fair,
But trepidation and amorous truth,
Engaged my mind in acts most debonair.
Like billy goats in courtship's fervent fire,
I acted with a lunacy most base,
In hopes that I might exude a sire
Of alluring aroma, to win thy grace.
But as my apprehensions did assail,
I sought solace in my chambers' rest,
To alleviate my nervosity frail
And find a state of tranquility blessed.
So let us not the follies of the heart,
Let Love's madness tear our souls apart.
