WALLS WITHOUT WINDOWS

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I sit here inside of this room that has no windows yet I see God damn everything. I hear even more when the morning birds do not sing so damn loud but like me, they are proud of the song that they are beginning to sing. I sit here wishing that someone will take me in no one will because now I carry a bag full of diamonds now the people who think they know me to say I should go to their churches and confess my sins because the odds were stacked up against me I was not supposed to win

There are thieves inside of my temple they are trying to steal all that I think and see only if they knew that it is easier to escape when all that you believe comes from within and in this mad world is the only thing that is free so go ahead and try to imprison me

The walls without windows are the cages of my empowering mind I have been preparing for this psychic warfare from a very young age and now I carry on my ancestor's memories and dying dreams with no whispers but primitive screams
