Loving you with scars

My hearts bruises shinning brighter than the stars
Damaged and torn, my soul is laying there in the dark, brutally riddled with scars.
The odor of my vulnerability harsher than a bunch of burnt-out cigars.
Absolutely ashamed, my second home was now clubs, bars and even liquor stores.

Empty bottles covering my living room floor.
I might not even clean it up, but I take off and drink more.
My pain was much too much to just simply ignore.
Inside I’m twisted, jaded, and severely injured from this inner civil war.
It’s like I’m running on broken ankles, I’m still the matador.

My condition is stable but critical.
Somehow when I met you I had found my miracle.
My love for you grew to transcend the physical.
Your presents to me is so therapeutical.

You are my peace when I am at war.
You are more than any man could ever ask for.
You are the one I swore to love and adore.
So from here on I swear to never leave your side like a ship leaving a stevedore.
I’ll give you one more line because you deserve a round of applause and an encore.
Even though I’m loving you with scars.
