Hangover

Perambulating through the nocturnal thoroughfare of Police Bazaar,
I sought to peruse Harari's sagacious tome.
Yet, my quest was thwarted by feelings of desolation and incompleteness,
As closed portals left me yearning for a secluded nook.

As I raised my gaze, an illuminated sign caught my attention,
A luminescent beacon promising refuge above.
Thus, I ventured into "Cloud 9" with elated expectations,
And requested tea, the sole beverage that brought me pleasure.

But what I received was an entirely dissimilar experience,
A beverage that rendered my senses insensible and numb.
I strove to maintain my moral code and principles,
Until I discharged the bill and departed, my mind still abuzz.

Now, in the radiance of the morning, my cognizance is obfuscated,
Hangover and recollections too nebulous.
My sonnets are the only thing that remain lucid,
A reminder of the night that rendered me lunatic.
