Naked Soul

I saw your naked soul in the post coital fog. For a brief moment you showed your vulnerable self.  You needed me in that moment and it felt like the moon showing herself for the first time.

Then I broke a breaking that I never thought I could fix and you ran from me. I never recovered the you I knew before my breaking.  Yes I say glimpses but it was not the same.

I grieve the loss of myself and the loss of you.  I am not enough to fill your need and that shatters me into a thousand pieces.

Each time I draw near to you my soul crashes into the rocks of a deserted sea and I am a little bit less than I was before

Raw Intense Piercing of the bonds which connect our souls With minds which cannot always find where it is they have come from much less where it is they have gone

Speaking of your poetry, this is just beautiful. It's easy to tell when someone has that little extra edge to where they sense the proper words and phrases to utilize so that each line will cut as much as possible or move as deeply as is required. I've noticed with your poetry there are many lines worthy of highlighting which is the force that draws me forward to want to read more. I love depth. It compels me when I write. Sentiment is my #1 motivating factor when I write, as well as when I read. It appears to be yours as well.

As for this piece, it was beautiful all the way to the end, but the last stanza, for me, is the best possible closing you could have constructed. Isn't poetry amazingly medicinal and gratifying though.

"Each time I draw near to you my soul crashes into the rocks of a deserted sea and I am a little bit less than I was before" - So touching and beautiful.

Thanks so much. I appreciate the feedback. This one flowed out when I was a bit tipsy. Maybe that helps.
