Reflection

I remember thinking,
Everything was normal
When I was still your little girl.

I remember knowing that you would tear apart the world to see her smile,
I admit it’s been a while.

You had that camouflage shower curtain that screamed single dad
and I’m pretty sure, yeah I’m almost certain that you really were that bad

Cause it was never thick enough to hide your sick intentions,
They way you locked us in my room forced me to reinvention
And now I always imagine
You in my reflection.

I’m not your girl anymore,
though I got all your imperfections.
Shes not the same as before.
She’s terrified of her own reflection.

Once I thought I was in love and I believed it was enough
But then I only saw you in his eyes and yet still acted surprised when I assumed his worst intentions.
I saw you in his reflection

I still feel your hands on my body
Try to convince myself it’s not me.
I want to erase the memory of you
Convince myself it wasn’t true
I cant be scared of my own eyes
Can’t take his heart then try to hide
Need to forget all that you did cause I can’t fear my own reflection
