Chair

All alone in his front yard
A man sits in a chair
Thoughts are running through his head
Thoughts that he can't bare

Voices tell him bad,  bad things
Voices no one hears
His mind is racing back and forth
Through all his hidden fears.

A picture of his family
Runs constant through his head
Regrets fill him of all those things
He should've done and said.

Loneliness consumes him
And darkness fills his mind
His heart is breaking by the second
But relief he cannot find

All at once,  peace fills his soul
He knows the time has come
He prays they know he loves them
Then pulls the trigger on the gun.

About this poem
