Give Me Liberty

Give me liberty.
Or a way out of believing,
My happiness to have it,
Deepens on deepening...
Debts to credit is more impressive.
To imagine this,
Is an acceptable way for one's life to live.

The more I wish for freedom to breathe,
I am made to feel less patriotic.
Un-American and left blamed to accuse,
Of treason for a reason...
I choose to live basically.
And refuse to accept,
A life addicted for things to get.
Things I neither need nor want.
I had already been there.
To worry about nonsense.
Nonsense others I witnessed in despair.
Doing their best to keep up with appearances.
Appearances to achieve to believe,
This had been their happiness to have it.
Until their bills to received,
Lacked their payments unpaid.
And their grieving left them,
Incapable to disguise...
Self deception and tormenting lies.

Oh no.
I will not medicate and drug my mind.
Every season that comes along.
With a new threat promising to threaten,
My well being needing...
To be vaccinated against,
Another illness invented.
More effective to fear than the last to appear.
Keeping my happiness to have it,
Artificially to addict.
As a must have habit to keep my happiness.
No!

I much rather be thought to delude and fiction,
My happiness and the truth of it...
To believe by others as unrealistic.
As long as I know,
This liberty I feel is real to me.
And anyone who wishes to claim me to be,
A nonconforming myth believer?
There will be no debts I will credit,
To keep me away...
From feeling fine everyday.
Regardless who attempts to share with me,
How great they feel with a taking of pills.
Time released and prescribed by a doctor,
Recommended to remove...
Their aches and pains temporarily!

To me?
That's not liberty.
That's more of an impression to make,
For their miseries kept to tolerate!
And more these days,
Are trying their best to escape away...
From lieing to themselves.
And others who can see,
These pretensions kept to keep...
Does nothing for the mind,
To charade and masquerade the truth!

'How old are you?'

'How old do I look?'

'Uh...
Honestly?
If I was not here to witness you breathing.
I...
Nevermind.
Hoping you will find the time,
To see that for yourself.'

'But...
You and I grew up together.'

'Then why ask me how you look?
You recognized me.
Before I did you.
Now I can see,
Who you remind me of.
However...
I will say this,
My grandfather lived to be near 90 years old.'

'Oh?
And what are you saying?'

'He looked good for his age!'
