Haiku Theory: POLITICS

Michael Matalon 1973 (New York)

Haiku Theory: Politics

Hysteria sells
So it’s repackaged often
Gaslighting voters

They use a weakness
To force voters to relent
Then embrace false truths

We delude ourselves
Each with their version of truth
Naive Realism

We trust with blind faith
That politicians care more
For people than votes

Culpable leaders
Who are morally honest
Evade politics
