Ashes on the highway

Hey ma,
It sure has been a while since you left this boy,
As a motherless child, Left to figure out this world alone
Left to build myself a new home I've never known such pain
As that day when you became ashes on the highway

A: Now looking back, she was too young
It must have killed you to have watched her die
D: what kind of a man lays his hand on a child
So young I just can’t understand
A: I remember how we all cried that night
I cry when I think of that awful day when you became
Ashes on the highway

D: To lose your baby must leave you weak
But you battled on remained strong
For the rest of us, you just had be

I cry when I think of that awful day
When you became
Ashes on the highway

I asked the lord, if he could bring you back
I’ve never heard a reply
I've lived in misery
And I will for the rest of my life
I've never known as much pain
As that day when you became
Ashes on the highway

He’ll never bring her back, never bring her back, and no never bring her back
As much as I cry, never bring her back, never bring her back, and no never bring her back
She wasn’t meant to die

I've never known as much pain as that day when you became ashes on the highway

The earns broken now, It flew out of the crashed car. Luckily the sisters made it okay
The dogs just have minor scars.
Not the perfect ending as you had planned but somewhere in that vast desert land so wild
The winds will reunite you with your lost child
