Old Soul

Riaan Smit 1988 (Windhoek)

I’m counting the days, all laid to waste, all laid to waste
I’m fearing the worst, my heart is cursed, my heart is cursed

This old soul, is weary of the road
I have become cold, to everyone that I know

The sun no longer, shines on my door
When I got what I wanted, I just wanted more… of you

I’m worried that I , was meant to die, was meant to die
It wasn’t wasn’t my time, I’ll wait in line, I’ll wait in line

This old soul, no longer wants to live
Its walked a long road, in all the lives that its lived

When it's time to go, it may finally be at peace
No longer wandering down lonesome empty streets, without you

When all I ever wanted, was all I ever had
The sun within my pocket, the moon within my hand

The stars they never warned me, they never gave a sign
That everything I’ll ever had, was never truly mine, like you
