Gypsy Girl

Riaan Smit 1988 (Windhoek)

Go on my gypsy girl
Fly free
And on the end of your journey
Won't you fly back to me
Though the road to happiness, is paved in sin
You’ll spread love and joy
Wherever you’ve been

So live each day, as if its your last,
Never feel regrets for your beautiful past
Take a piece of my heart along on your journey

There's a sign on the crossroads it goes in a number of ways
If you don't know where you’re going you won't know which road to take
If you find yourself alone and out in the rain
Think of me gypsy, I’ll be singing your name

When the sun is reborn you’ll embrace the dawn,
Not many have felt this before

Everywhere that you go you will meet so many faces
People will love you for all that you are
And everyone will remind you of so many places
you'll feel like home Really isn't so far
For everywhere will become your home
Who wouldn't want you for their own?

You go into a bar and you ask for a smoke
They give you a choice between acid or coke
But you’ll get by with just but a smile
And god I haven't seen that in a while

All of your stories will be written in song
For the road, is where you belong
