If The Effort Is Made
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Anything made to look easy to do,
And it to achieve.
Seems seldom to be followed,
By those who find themselves...
Without sleep to get,
Or food on their minds wanting to eat.
A success to achieve made to look easy,
Is the most difficult thing to accomplish.
Some children grow to feel obligated,
To prove and show to those much younger...
A difference to make it shown and known,
Takes opening a door...
For others accepting it easy to believe,
Than any time before.
That opportunities given to receive,
May or may not be...
Because of one's ethnic diversity.
But an effort made to face obstacles.
Daring to move them out of the way to erase.
And this done to do takes,
Explaining how a dollar bill...
To acquire more of it to receive,
Is the knowing how to attract...
Those who have it to increase the receiving,
In the pockets of the ones...
Bigoted with kept beliefs,
Their survival to live independently...
Without contributions made,
By those primarily of colored faces.
Can be achieved,
With a continued mistreating to disrespect...
Anyone to believe accepts this mentality,
Has more than shock coming their way.
Without previews, hints or clues to prepare.
Delusion,
Has a way of whitewashing truth to fiction it!
From establishments to claim their creation.
To people who sit in positions of leadership,
Done to successfully dupe and deceive...
A knowledge to have it or competence had.
Too late for anyone to discover,
More celebrated is their faking...
On an annual basis.
With no proof or evidence to produce,
Beneficial facts that eliminates suspicion...
Of legalized fraud and familiar theft expected!
