"18 Birds"

Lenamarie Clark 1981 (Indianapolis,Indiana)

One flew up,one flew down
many made sounds that's when I smiled and said life will be alright.

I hugged myself from God up above as he sends his love through his son.

I looked into the beauty of our earthly sun, through the rugged small tree, then I  counted 18 birds.

Some flew and hopped on tree limbs nearby and some made sounds.

The wave of silence stood over me, after a while I begin to sigh.

I went outside for a walk and peace thinking of my late sister that passed, which got me in my feels.
Damn, I need to heal I said to myself.

I stood still and just gazed at the 18 birds...

Some flew east and west they looked full of zest, free-spirited as can be.
I took pictures of the wonder around me, the sun begins to shine again while I'm look at the 18 birds.

I saw the sun's rays in my camera lens.

I gathered my thoughts and thought of my son, he is free-spirited too.

 Then I talked to God...

God ...
I hope he doesn't stop trying in life.

Xavier, my son, please
Pillar right through like gods only begotten son, the
18 birds I counted remind me of you.

Hold strong like God's son who died for us, the 18 birds  fly and glide with no care in the world, son I want to see you fly and glide, stop by  and don't ever say goodbye it's see you later.
