AS I SIT HERE

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

As I sit here at 12:31 a.m. December 31, 2023, I reflect on the year that has passed some people and things have gone and left but in my heart, mind, and soul I found self-love and another one that I know through the oncoming years will finally last

I do not care for fame and I never gave a f*ck but fortune being it is all fool's gold yet there was a time when I cared that people remembered my story and name. who in the hell over the years was I trying to impress? this is me as I slowly undress for the real other ones to see my soul believe that in this strange world that they call their own I, at last, found my tribe while wearing this silly cap on my head saying I am here this is my peace offering admitting who I am

As I sit here I  numberer the feathers on my wings and the songs that I care to sing while waiting for the new food to feed my hunger and nature, my soul
