The Rejected

The rejected, undesirable mass of Flesh.
The protected, moldable clay in the hands of the best.
Fragments of broken projects, the last remnants of protected once loved, now rejected.
A child protected grows old, breaks, becomes the rejected.
Pick up the broken pieces, see if you can,
the image of life rejected by all.
If your sight serves you well, the pieces come together.
A picture more horrid than you'll ever remember.
Throw it back down, if it doesn't break further
lock it away where it will never be seen again.
