Rays of Healing



Those rays were promised

Healing ones

Like calves from the stall

Malachi had said.

And then that terrible gap

Over four hundred years

Jewry seemingly abandoned.

Greeks moved in

Besmirching the sacred.

Pulling down.

God frowned.

But the promise of those rays.

Withstood days and days.

Til David's City

Boasted the Hope of Ages

Under a beaming Star.

Brought shepherds close by.

Brought science's Sky.

And Men from afar.

Questioning.

Rejoicing.
