To those at Philippi.
Yes I am in chains
It bothers me not
My imprisonment brought on
Attentions whether
In jest or true following.
I could die I suppose.
To leave and be with Christ?
Immediately.
Or the servant’s otherwise.
Up to the Father.
But now humility is the chore
And longsuffering.
Think of the humiliation
Of the Master.
God, very God.
But lowered to man
For a suffering spell.
And I want to know Him
In all aspects, moving toward
His glorious Resurrection.
This is greatest cause for rejoicing.
I repeat, rejoicing.
Now in meantime you have weapons
For action, serving and thinking right.
Prayer, supplication and thanksgiving.
Speak often, and confidently to Father.
Control thinking processes
Unto good report and the lovely.
This sustains.
This prospers.
Bringing on contentment.
Not previously imagined.
But available as
Spiritual knowledge accumulates.
I will say it again friends
Rejoice, and at all costs
Flee from contention
Or divisions.
Epaphroditus, true to that serving spirit
Carries this Letter to you.
Embracing you for me.
(Written by Paul, the wandering church starter. But at this point in prison.)
