By Faith and Not by Sight

To wash or not to wash,
With soap is now the question,
To wait for unseen hands
To come and make an intercession!

The crow can say whatever he wants;
The eagle rules the sky.
And as I walked around the lake,
I stopped to wonder why.

I watched some children playing;
As they flew above the sand,
I thought of how all of God’s elect
Are in his mighty hands.

Blessed is the one that’s not
Controlled by circumstance!
He doesn’t leave his hope and joy
Left merely up to chance!

A job does not affect him
Or a home that he can rent.
He works within the Word of God
And lives within his tent.

If he has clothes and food enough
That he can just survive;
His light will shine upon the world
And cause the dead to rise!

Who is the man that walks like this?
And has such peace inside?
He is the one, who’s saved by faith;
In my Lord, Jesus Christ!
