Fasting

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Fasting for the will of God
Is something to be admired
Lord, you’re speaking to my heart
Not preaching to the choir

Convict me Lord for all my sins
And lack of self-control
Fill me with your presence
Holy Spirit make me whole

Cast out all the demons
Who are trying to steal my soul
Teach me in your ways to stand
So, I can play my role

Walk across the water, heal the sick
And raise the dead
Open up my mind dear Lord
But please don’t crush my head
