See with soul

Energy
Synergy
Let me take you on a tour of our century
Past the elementary cosmos, an enticing planetary excursion, a taste bud of the old sensations, exploding stars and the kissing of meteorites, a circle of demigods and a throne of Godness, blinding light and the sweet release of your humanness
Here we carry weightless, we are without body or heaviness
We are both incense and light
Cleansing to the spirit, mantra to the soul

Energy, synergy
Allow me to be your guide, as I show you the wonders about, just outside your periphery of the I (eye)
Take you outside your ego and pride
Where peace dances hauntingly with love and light
Here we carry weightless, we are without bone, tissue and sinews
We are both the past and present
Without judgement or contempt

We eat the fruit of soul labor
A spiritual harvest of bounty
A cornucopia of servitude and humility
Here the table is long enough to accommodate all
Here we eat with love and leave no crumbs to the floor

Ntaoleng Labane

Biography of Ntaoleng Patience Noxolo Precious Labane Patience Labane was born and bred in the Free State in a place called QwaQwa. She’s completed her BSc in humanities at the University of the Free State. She has worked with numerous artists both national and international,. She also has published a poetry collection of her earlier works entitled ‘Poetry Diary of a Feeling Soul’ that you can find on Amazon and several other platforms. Patience is part of the Radioactive poetry collective. She’s also A CSP Free State Slam champ (2018) which saw her first performance as a Slam poet, a Vryfees slam champ (2019). She’s been part of the Hear My Voice poetry fest, The Word n Sound poetry slams, Pay The Poet fest, Poetic Blues poetry events, as well as Free the Word fest in Bloemfontein, PENM theater production of THIS IS ME, as well as Open Act (M. O. S. S. A festival)-unfortunately the production met some challenges. Patience is very much active in the poetry scene, and 2020 although a daunting and frustrating year, got to see Patience highly active in poetry—with the release of her poetry podcast ‘Her Thoughts’ which can be found on Spotify, Anchor, Radio public, Google podcasts and Oncast. Patience is currently working on something different, which she hopes to share with the public before the end of the year. It’s called ‘CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN PERSONALITIES’ which looks at the complexities of her own existence—being Black, woman, spiritual, queer, depressed, religious, everything governing her thoughts, feelings, experiences and mental processes. As part of the Radioactive poetry collective (2019) she got the amazing opportunity to travel with three other artists to Malawi to attend the Tumaini festival at the Dzaleka refugee camp where she met some of the amazing artists including but not limited to Menes La Plume, CED KONCEPT and Morset Bilie. It was a beautiful experience made up of poetry and writing workshops, exotic foods, colorful clothing and the most heartfelt of exchanges. Patience was also a project manager on the amazing documentary that follows the journey of one of South Africa’s most prominent poets Nthabiseng ‘JahRose’ Jafta which can be watched on the National Arts Festival website. . She has also been part of two amazing documentaries (Where the Poets Are) which can be seen on the Vryfees Kunstefees website, as well as the Eclectic Wordsmith, which shares a little bit about the poetic journey of three poets in the Free State (Me, Tshiamo Malatji and Kwena Peu). Recently she was part of the unveiling of a poetry anthology featuring some of the best voices in South African Poetry and Literature. She was also recently nominated by the Central Music awards under the category ‘Best female poet of the year’. She has also received an award from the Radioactive Blog for The most improved poet of the year. She has done some work with a wonderful female artist from Nigeria by the name of Dera Melanie, and it’s called ‘Dear Woman, which can be found on YouTube, SoundCloud and Audiomack. Some of her poetry and photography has been in exhibitions in Italy as well as being published in the Castello catalogue. She has participated in the Poetry Africa Slam 2021 where she came second. Her piece on the experiences of being Black and female are to be published in a book project by Howard University entitled ‘African Women in Digital Spaces: Redefining Social Movements on the Continent and in the Diaspora to the publisher’, Mkuki na Nyota (MnP) Publishers which will be distributed in schools across the United States. more…
