Haiku For You

HAIKU KUNG FU

Eagle claw joint lock,

a northern praying mantis,

I am sore for days.

HAIKU BIJOU

At the matinee

inside the Bijou, we held

hands for the first time.

HAIKU BABY BLUE

It's all over now

Baby Blue, says Bob Dylan.

Are you still mad, Bob?

HAIKU BABALÚ.

Bring your Congo drums

Ricky, and let's dance all night

you, me, and Lucy.

HAIKU RENDEZVOUS

She balked at the thought

to meet him at the same spot

but went off anyway.

About this poem

These five haikus hopefully express the playful side of the form: a strict adherence to the Japanese 5-7-5 (17-syllable poem structure).
