Fantasies Flight

Taking keyboard in hand, I once again
mount that great, winged steed, Imagination.
My heart races and thoughts soar
as I feel Imagination slowly  lift,
gradually escaping realities grasp.
With one hand swinging the mighty
double edged sword of  literacy
I begin to cut a wide swath
through the realm of make believe.
A  modern day poet warrior
on an age old mission.
Seeking a temporary escape
from the tyranny, torments and trials
of every day task and temptations.
My old friend fantasy I salute  you.
Imagination,  come carry me away...

I salute you for this very powerful poem that pretty much encapsulates what many of us poets think and feel. But you wrote it masterfully. Thank you for sharing this gift with the rest of us.
