Covid issolation

Carol Walsh 1948 (Wi)

Here I sit feeling kinda blue,
Looking out the window with a fabulous view
Diamonds sparkling on the water, boats drifting by
Not a bit of wind and a bluebird sky
A few puffy clouds rising in the east
Waiting for the morning breezes to increase
Canceling my appointments , a frown on my face
Quarantining  and whining in a beautiful place.

No to the massage- one Bill, one for me
Can’t work out or do  Reformer I see
Had to  let go of a boat ride and dinner with friends
No Friday Mahjongg…will this list ever end.
Billy Boy is bummed - no nine and dine
Can’t go on the raft up - had to decline.
No bridge with his boisterous group
Just more time to relax and recoup.

Missing my peeps and my routine
Thinking of this variant as yet unseen
Did this whole thing start in a Wuhan lab
The various viruses morphed from an historic collab
Floated down the river…the mighty Yangtse
Took a thousand jumps till it got near me.
Two and a half years  of Purell and N95’s
Do the right thing…we will all survive

Got the initial shots and then all the boosts
Then in the Florida sun I got seduced
Getting back to normal and whatever that means
Am I in denial - I have had my vaccines.
It’s not at all over it- to that I can attest
It’s super contagious and it will never rest
We will all get it sometime  -  it might be true
But for the next couple of days
I am staying away from you.
