"An Angel" (Little Mo Knows)

While touching my brow,
I finger the book,
and place myself
...at the marrow.

I suffer the flurry
to glimpse at an Angel,
and ask if She's
...coming or going.

If She's coming,
I lead her.
If She's going,
I trail Her,
but always
...I beg of Her name.

And then at the door.
that She comes through
or leaves from,
She turns and gives me
...Her Words.

Words of an Ancient.
Words of a Moment.
And Words that will show
...the Hereafter.

Then She leaves me to stay,
She leaves me to play,
She leaves me to
...wait for whatever.

About this poem

I wrote this poem because I love thinking of the mystery of that which is greater than me. I have always said, "There is nothing so wondrous and yet so frighten than "Mother Nature" and the "Search for God"!.

Lona L. Drum

I grew up in a small town in northeast Pa. I spent much of my time playing with my siblings and with nature all around us. I still live in the same area and so many of my poems are based on childhood fantasies, developing my imagination, and young love. more…

Might I also add that much of my poetry is based around Mother Nature and the quest for a God. :-)

Aren't I the man who is hyper-glad he tapped on Lona L. Drum's amazing poetry this fine day. First that comes to mind - Wow!!! What a keen, intelligent, apt writer/poet you are, Miss Drum. And what irony and that I, myself, was a drummer for some 20 years. Thank you for sharing your brilliance my dear. You deserve to be experienced.

Your writing certainly has an angelic style to it - a lightness and elusiveness, hope and loss. It is nice to when an angel gives you gifts....
