An Ode to Deturgescence

O deturgescence,
To have acquiescence
To purge water's presence,
But allow some for coalescence.
Indeed to be the quintessence
of corneal effervescence.
In making youthful adolescence,
And masked prepubescence,
You are the corneal essence.

Who can make you into obsolescence?
Or to slumber in quiescence?
Or to be senile in senescence?
Or to corrupt into recrudescence?
Nay, you are like bioluminescence
And beautiful thermoluminescence.
You call of soft fluorescence,
And yearn warm luminescence,
And contemplate incandescence.

Thank you deturgescence,
For your boundless presents
And your endless omnipresence.
