To Love with the Tides

To love…. what does that mean?

To me, I think of the ocean. One may try to put the ocean in a bottle, but all you truly obtain is salt water, contained in a tiny glass jar. Once within the bottle, the magic and power behind that naturally magnificent force, that which makes it so wonderous, is lost. You simply have a reminder to hold, to grasp, to place one’s attachments onto. It becomes a projection of what WAS loved.

I no longer wish to put anyone in a bottle. If the tides bring someone’s journey in far enough to share a life with me, I’ll gladly flow in alignment with another, but should they go out again…. I want to love them as I would the ocean tides themselves.

To me…. That’s what it means to truly love.
