LOST FRIEND

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

While at my parents' house I went to my favorite playground the attic oh how my eyes were surprised with sheer delight I felt like a giddy schoolgirl over what I found

All the musty-smelling books of all the poetry I ever wrote the words between the pages that I so carelessly spoke in my early years some brought tears to my eyes others had me asking myself I wrote this shit

All these old books of my poetry are just like coming across some grade school and high school friends, especially your bestie the one who knows you the most the one who will hold all of your secrets no matter how much you piss them off

Come on sit down let us have a drink and catch up my lost friend finding you again is like finding a pirate burried tressure or Jed's oil gold
