The garden gate,

The garden gate.

What lies on the other side of the rustic,
wooden gate?
Is there a secret garden, in a wild
overgrown state?
Does it harbour perfumed pink Roses in
soil beds, so fine?
Is there a swing or a slide for kids, to have
a fun time?

Is there a tanglement of weeds, brambles
with sharp thorns?
Or a neatly mown lawn, where birds visit
in the morn?
Does it conceal a comfy bench, for people
to sit on ad talk?
Or is there a winding stone path, where
the dwellers walk?

Does it contain rows, of vegetables
offering healthy delights?
Or is there a view behind, offering an
amazing rural sight?
I just don't know, what lies behind the
as I roam.
Can't I just take a peep, before I venture
on home!
